Projects to do

A shop where only the owner knows how to open, bill and close cannot grow or even take a day off.

A small firm moving to a new building must shift desks, internet, files and people without losing a working day, and every step depends on another.

A cloud kitchen can prepare its sauces in house or buy them ready-made, and each route changes cost, taste control and how well it copes with busy days.

A small clinic with crowded benches and an unclear order of service makes patients anxious and doctors rush.

A court hall full on weekday evenings and silent on weekday mornings loses money on every empty hour it cannot store for later.

A small exporter juggling several overseas buyers loses orders in message threads, and nobody can say quickly which shipment is late or stuck.

A popular tuition centre opening a second branch can lose its quality if it hires fast and trains too little.

A workshop whose six suppliers each send a separate vehicle pays for many half-empty trips and untidy gate traffic.

An assembler that buys batteries, motors and frames from a handful of suppliers can be stopped cold by one late delivery.

Garlands cannot be sold the next day, so a flower seller must decide the order before knowing the demand, and a wrong guess either wastes flowers or loses sales.

A canteen counter with one slow billing desk makes students wait in a long line right when they have the least time between lectures.

A guesthouse that charges one flat rate all year turns away rich-season demand cheaply and sits empty in the monsoon.

A neighbourhood seller hands out plastic pouches that are used once, yet customers walk in daily and could easily reuse containers.

Dinner at a hostel mess often starts late, and students blame the cooks without anyone checking where the delay really begins.

A furniture start-up cannot be fastest, cheapest, most flexible and best made at once, and trying to be all four leaves it good at none.

In a busy dosa restaurant, orders get shouted, scribbled and misheard, so dishes arrive wrong and tables wait while the kitchen redoes work.

A stationery wholesaler heading into admission season often buys too much of what is slow and too little of what flies, because sales, buying and storage never meet.
